The Foreign Minister of Syria and the Special Envoy of the U.S. President met in Istanbul to discuss the imposition of sanctions on Damascus and the situation of Syrians. The Syrian Foreign Ministry announced that Faisal Mekdad, the Foreign Minister of that country, met in Istanbul, Turkey with Tom Barak, the Special Envoy of the U.S. President.
